Juggling act

Ever feel like you’re the star juggler in a show called life? That people keep throwing more balls at you but you have to grab them and keep the others juggling at the same time, and juggle the new balls too. That you daren’t stop juggling because everything will come crashing down, and you simply can’t do that….so you carry on juggling.

I’m feeling a bit like that at the moment. I’m trying to keep juggling but I have a fear that they will all come crashing down at some point. I’m juggling being a parent, a wife, organising the house, running a business and everything else that goes with these roles.

Being a mother and a wife are of course my main priorities, but I also want to be the entrepreneur. I want my business to succeed. I am passionate about what I do, but I’m starting to feel I cannot commit to it as much as I want to. I feel like I’m not taken seriously. That my business, despite it being a limited company, is not taken seriously and that I am still seen as the SAHM and not the WAHM trying to juggle 4 young children too. I need to find the compromise, the middle ground and I need to be taken seriously. I need to organise my days better and plan my work. It got me thinking, how do others do it? There are mums out there that have and do juggle the kids and house whilst running a business and I’d like to know what their secret is. How do they do it?

Do you run a business from home? How do you juggle everything? I’d love to know your tips & tricks.

  1. Oh Rachel I feel just the same, life is a juggling act alright with kiddies, house and business. I dare not stop to analyse it and avoid to do lists if I can as they scare me! I try to congratulate myself each day on moving everything forward a notch as the kids go to bed safe and well. I also work late at night but I enjoy that so it doesn’t feel a chore. My advise is to celebrate all that you do so well and don’t worry about the stuff you never get round to, when it becomes important enough you will do it!
