YouVersion Bible Quote
Luke 6:37 (NIV)
‘Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.’
This quote is related to the quote yesterday and is self-explanatory really. As Christians we are told not to judge, not to condemn and to forgive those who may have hurt you – for this is what Jesus did. He did not judge anyone. He did not condemn anyone and he forgave everyone.
‘I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith in the Son of God, who love me and gave himself up for me.’
I love the explanation of this verse in my bible – How have we been crucified with Christ? Legally, God looks at us as if we had died with Christ. Because our sins died with him, we are no longer condemned. Relationally, we have become one with Christ, and his experiences are ours. Our Christian life began when, in unity with him, we died to our old life. In our daily life, we must regularly crucify sinful desires that keep us from following Christ. This top is a kind of dying with him. And yet the focus of Christianity is not dying, but living. Because we have been crucified with Christ, we have also been raised with him. Legally, we have been reconciled with God and are free to grow in Christ’s likeness. And in our daily life, we have Christ’s resurrection power as we continue to fight sin. We are no longer alone, for Christ live in us – he is our power for living and our hope for the future.
Today marked the end of my 10 day Daniel Fast. I didn’t complete the whole day. It was my Father in Laws birthday today and we all had a meal together – a takeout. I couldn’t finish all my meal, and now feel a bit icky. I do not feel guilty for finishing early. I was told, as Christians – we do not have to do everything with legality. We do not have to behave like the pharisee’s did, and everything be by the book, strict and proper. Trust in your relationship with God. Talk to him, for he will give you the answers. He will hear you. He knows what I have done the past 10 days – and I truly believe that I will still see breakthrough!
